This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates. I also will post interesting facts about places where I took my pictures and film my videos to make this blog more interesting and informative. I will change and update them regularly. Right now you can read and learn something new about two of my favourite places in my home city Almaty. Check next posts and I hope you will enjoy it.

Ascension Cathedral Almaty

Ascension Cathedral Almaty is one of the most beautiful and one of my favourite place in Almaty, Kazakhstan. It located in a green Panfilov Park. The historical monument is one of the main sights of the city. Bishops of Turkestan and Tashkent were the initiators of the church construction in the early 19th century. Particular feature of this wooden building is that it was erected according to a unique ancient technology, practically without any nails.

Big Almaty Lake

Big Almaty Lake is also one of the most beautiful places in Almaty. You need only 40 minutes to get there by car. The water in Big Almaty Lake looks like it has been dyed blue. The lake is 2511 meters above sea level. Like the vast majority of lakes in the Tian Shan mountains, the lake appeared as a result from number of earthquakes. It is beautiful in any season.
